362pp , About the author :: Elena Azaola , obtained the degrees of BA and MA in Social Anthropology at the Universidad Iberoamericana . Subsequently, he completed his doctorate in the same discipline at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies in Social Anthropology , where he worked as a researcher since 1977 to date. The themes that have been developed are: crime and violence among women and youth; child abuse and exploitation and prison and police forces . Recently co - coordinated the National Report on Violence for Health Secretariat and UNDP. It is also a psychoanalyst , having done his training in the Mexican Psychoanalytic Circle. He has worked as a researcher and published more than 100 papers ( including books and articles) both in Mexico and in other countries [ US, Canada , Holland, Brazil , England, Argentina , Japan and Spain ] . He is a member of the National System of Researchers , Level III , and member of the Board of the Commission on Human Rights [ since 2001 ] . His research has received several awards both in Mexico and abroad .
