Yet another sleepless night… I am thinking about why I try so hard to help people and how to leave some kind valuable knowledge after my days come to the end. I know that I can help many people to be happy again and have happy and fulfilled lives. It is my life’s meaning, so here is another basic lesson to help you to understand yourself, maybe a little better, than you knew yourself before you read this post.
There are a lot of different views on what makes people unhappy, or in other words, what they do not want in their lives. I simplified it for you and will try to provide you with a few tips on how to fix it. If you are interested in working on it, I recommend the “13 Steps To Awakening.” course. It took me almost 30 years to put it together. It includes daily and homework exercises and is free for you to read and work through.
The only two things that people do not want are pain and fear. Everything else people have no problem ignoring or easily overcoming.
Let’s start with the easy one: Pain. We all know that we are willing to do anything in our power to eliminate pain no matter what the cost is. A very good example is going to a dentist. Most people will avoid going to a dentist no matter what. One of the main reasons is because they cause pain. In my personal experience I do not like dentists because when I go with only one small problem, like one of my teeth bothering me, after I get there the dentist tells me that I have a lot of problems. By the end of the day, most of my teeth bother me with a huge, unexpected bill on top of it.
On the other hand when I have a terrible toothache, I will run to the same dentist to eliminate the pain, and I will pay as much as he asks just to stop the pain. This is a basic example of how human psychology works: we hate pain and in some cases are willing to end our lives to stop it. When we are in pain, we forget everything else.

Why do some people suffer from chronic pain, both physical and psychological?
As someone who has experienced tremendous amounts of pain throughout my life, I consider myself somewhat of an expert on the subject. I’ve been looking for the higher MEANING of pain for as long as I can remember and I would like to share with you what I’ve discovered. Pain is not just an indicator of something being wrong with the physical body, it is a spiritual self-correcting mechanism built into our consciousness. You see, PAIN immediately brings you back into the PRESENT MOMENT AWARENESS. Once you start feeling it, you can’t think of anything else and immediately bring your attention to the part of the body that’s producing pain.
When we stray too far off from our path, the pain brings us back. Sometimes gently, sometimes violently shaking us out of our slumber. This is one reason. The other reason for pain is that it cleanses our consciousness of the ego garbage.
When the pain is intense, it literally reaches into the dark corners of our psyche to clean out false beliefs, convictions, and egotistic behavioral patterns that no longer serve us. So the next time you experience pain, try to embrace it with the understanding that you’re being liberated.
