To Love or Not to Love – Part I

  • When we talk about love in the context of this course, what exactly are we referring to?

Love is what we feel toward objects, ideas, or people, whom we consider to be a part or an extension of ourselves. What we feel, however, does not need to be a positive emotion. While grounding your child does not necessarily feel good or satisfying, you still do it out of love because you want them to learn a valuable lesson. When we talk about your success in the context of this course, we also mention love because your lifework necessarily becomes a part or an extension of you – just like raising a child. This kind of love happens naturally – you do not have to pretend or try to force it. Do you now understand the importance of doing what you love?

  • How can I love my life when things are falling apart or if I made some bad mistakes that cost me a lot in terms of money and relationships?

What happened – happened, but it is never too late to change. Remember, you cannot force love or pretend to love when you do not. The only thing you can do is forgive yourself and accept things as they really are. The important thing to understand is that your money and relationships disappeared because the three areas that we cover in this course – finances, recognition, relationships – were out of balance and you were not doing your lifework. Like a tripod, you take out one leg and the whole things falls over. Cover your basic needs, focus on your lifework, and before you know it, you will be in love with your life!

  1. Dear Alex … For Example … I love some of the things you post in your blog … but I like your blog in General, see what I mean? Often we confuse liking something greatly with loving. Otherwise I agree on what you say and above all I cannot say I love God as much as I can say I love Jesus, God is for me the absolute … I love my wife and family above all, but no one is greater than God!
I would die for all of the above mentioned.
If it was for the love of God … I would also die for you.
    Yours sincerly.
Keep up the nice work. ;-)

    1. thank you for your sharing your opinion,
we all going to die, that not important, what is important is to have love in our lives while we are a life.

      1. My mother died as I was 18 months old … I love my mother … because she loved me so much that after 2 girls ( my elder sisters) she was told not to have any more children … the I came! Because my fathets greatest wish was to have a son. My father was one of 8 children of which 2 boys and my uncle died young and had no children. I love my father although after he remarried a woman with 3 of her own children and another came along (= 7 children) my family fell apart due to the step mother who passed away this year! Im not saf about that. I would LOVE to consider you a friend?

  2. We live in a world where we have to hide to make love, while violence is practiced in broad daylight! John Lennon.
    Make Love not war.

    1. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time and enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardships as the pathway to peace. Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is and not as I would have it, trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will, that I may be reasonably happy in this life, and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen.
